This is the bloody tragedy in the United States since November 12, 2001, when an American lines plane crashed into a residential area in Bill Harbor, New York, shortly after taking off from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, killing 260 passengers On board the plane and five people on the ground.
Here is what we know about the victims of their crash on Wednesday, what happened and what indicates the initial investigations that may have contributed to the accident.
The 5342, run by the American Eagle, the regional branch of US Airlines, flying from Whitchta, Kansas, to the airport outside Washington, DC. When he approached Ronald Reagan Airport around 9 pm on Wednesday (02:00 GMT on Thursday), the plane collided with a helicopter in the Seikorsky Black Hawk army.
Shortly before landing, the plane pilots were asked to change the corridors. While the plane was assumed at first on the main runway 1, the plane was asked to crash on the runway 33, which is much shorter. Air tracking maps showed that the pilots accepted this request and modified the plane.
Less than 30 seconds before a crash occurred, the air traffic officer asked the army helicopter if it could see the plane.
“Pat25 (Army Helicopter), do you have CRJ (US Airlines) on the horizon? The air traffic controller said at 8:47 pm:” Pat25, pass behind CRJ. “
After a short time, air traffic monitors can be heard, saying: “Craving, crashing, crashing, this is on alert.”
The plane crashed into the Botomac River. The reason for the collision is not yet known.
The US Airways flight was carrying 60 passengers and four crew members while Black Hawk had three US army soldiers.

NTSB is an independent federal agency that investigates civil aviation accidents in the United States as well as serious incidents related to other transportation patterns.
On Friday, NTSB announced that it had found black boxes from the plane. Black boxes record aviation data, pilot conversations and radio communications during flights. These records provide important information in the investigation of aviation accidents because they can reveal experimental procedures or external factors that may have contributed to the accidents.
The agency said in a post on X.
While the investigation at an early stage, the multiple American media, including the New York Times and NBC News, has reported to unveiled sources as saying that there is a shortage of air traffic controller on Wednesday evening at Reagan Airport.
While there is one monitor of air traffic and other helicopters, the same person was dealing with both aircraft and helicopters on Wednesday night.
For the sake of investigation, NTSB will form working groups to consider different areas connected to the accident, according to a member of the NTSB Todd Inman Board of Directors.
Enman explained that these groups will include: operations, duties of the investigation staff and the history of aviation; Energy systems, consider aircraft engines; Structures, documenting the scene of the accident and the wreckage of the airframe; Survival factors, consider continuous injuries; Systems, given the electrical, hydraulic and gift components of the plane and the helicopter; The Air traffic control group.
NTSB did not mention the time the investigation will take, but the investigations into aviation incidents may take from two to two years. The agency usually issues a preliminary report a few weeks after the accident containing information collected at the scene.
