Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi Al -Jazeera tells that Iran is “immediately and decisive” to an American or Israeli attack.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi Al -Jazeera told that any attack by Israel or the United States on Iranian nuclear installations will drown in the region in a “overall war”.
In an interview with the Arabian Peninsula during a visit to Qatar, Araghchi warned that launching a military attack on Iranian nuclear installations will be “one of the biggest historical mistakes that the United States could make.”
He said that Iran would respond “immediately and decisive” to any attack and that it would lead to a “overall war in the region.”
Fears in Iran have grown that US President Donald Trump may enable Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attack Iranian nuclear sites while increasing the tightening of US sanctions during his second term in his position.
Aragchi said that he met the Prime Minister of Qatar and Foreign Minister Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al in Doha to discuss the main regional issues.
“We commend the role of mediation in Qatar in reaching the ceasefire in Gaza,” Aragici said in an interview on Friday. “I hope all other issues are eliminated.”
He also met Hamas officials while he was in Qatar and said that the Palestinians achieved “victory” in Gaza, despite the destruction of the Israel war on the pocket.
“Despite all the killings and destruction that the entire world has witnessed, the Palestinian people carried on their land and supported their values and principles. I think this is victory.”
“All the Israeli occupation forces did their power to eliminate Hamas and liberate their prisoners, but at the end of the day they were forced to sit and negotiate with Hamas. This represents the victory of Hamas.”
The Israeli war on Gaza has killed at least 4,7,460 Palestinians, especially women and children, and wounded 111,580 since October 7, 2023. At least 1139 people have been killed in Israel during the Hamas -led attacks and more than 200 people.
A large part of the tape has been reduced to ruins, and the vast majority of Gaza population, which numbered 2.3 million.
Regarding the developments in Syria, Aragcha said that Iran supports the formation of a government that can all Syrian society sectors participate after former President Bashar al -Assad, who was a strong ally of Iran.
Aragici said that Iran’s goals are to settle in Syria and preserve the country’s territorial integrity.
“We support any government chosen and supported by the Syrian people. We want peace and security for Syrians, and it is an introduction to themselves in the region.
“We do not want to see Syria as a center of endless tension or ethnic conflicts, which may turn it into a safe haven for terrorists. Instability in Syria will leak over the region.”
Iran has supported Assad since the outbreak of the Syria war in 2011, providing him with fighters, weapons and other military support aimed at keeping him in power, as well as to maintain the regional “axis of resistance” in Tehran to Israel and the United States.
Regarding Trump’s re -election, Aragchi said that the history of Iranian -American relations was “full of hostility and lack of confidence.”
He pointed out that the United States, according to the recent Trump administration, withdrew from the nuclear agreement and was assassinated by Qassem Solimani, head of the Iranian -Iranian Jerusalem (IRGC).
He called on the new Trump administration to take practical steps to restore confidence, such as returning the frozen Iranian money, and said that Iran does not object to directing dialogue with the United States, but insists on reducing negotiations on the nuclear issue.
