In the two months from November 27 to Monday, Israel killed at least 83 people in Lebanon
Israel launched a wave of attacks on the Becca Valley in Lebanon in its recent breach of the fragile ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah Group.
The Israeli army said on Friday that it hit Hezbollah’s “multiple” targets in the region near the border with Syria in the east, where the tensions escalated after extending the last deadline to remove its forces from the country.
The army claimed that the sites that targeted them in the attack overnight include “underground infrastructure used to develop and manufacture weapons” and sites on the borders used “to smuggle weapons to Lebanon.”
Israel was supposed to complete the withdrawal of its army from Lebanon by January 26 under a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, which agreed last November. However, he refused to do this and the deadline has been extended until February 18.
According to the conditions of the ceasefire, the Lebanese army deployed in the south, where Hezbollah is withdrawing its forces to the north of the Litani River, about 30 km (20 miles) from the border.
Israel made it clear that it had no intention to meet the deadline, claiming that the Lebanese army did not achieve its side of the deal.
In two months from November 27 to Monday, Israel killed at least 83 people in Lebanon, according to data obtained from the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon.
At least 228 were wounded, as the displaced residents tried to return to the villages, as the Israeli soldiers remained stationed.
Earlier this week, when thousands of people in Lebanon tried to return to their homes, the Israeli forces killed at least 24 in southern Lebanon.
This week, the Lebanese media reported repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli army, including the attacks on the town of Taibi and the village of Kafr Kela, both on the border with Israel.
Reuters news agency conducted that the latest drone attack was at least five people in the southern Lebanese town of Majdal Salim on Wednesday.
From the beginning of the conflict on October 8, 2023 to November 26, 2024, the Israeli forces killed at least 3961 people in Lebanon and hit more than 16,520.
