Arab ministers refuse to invite Trump to remove the Palestinians from Gaza Israeli conflict news

The US President suggested that Egypt and Jordan should take the Palestinians from Gaza.

Foreign ministers of five Arab countries issued a joint statement rejecting the forced displacement of the Palestinians from their lands.

The statement, which was issued on Saturday, presented a unified position against US President Donald Trump’s call to Egypt and Jordan to take the Palestinians from Gaza.

The foreign ministers and officials from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Palestinian Authority and the Arab League said that Trump’s proposed move will threaten stability in the region, spread the conflict and undermine peace.

“We confirm our rejection of (i.e. attempts) to waive the rights of the non -executable Palestinians, whether through the settlement or evacuation activities or the attachment from the land or by evacuating the land from its owners … in any way or under any circumstance or justifications.” Read the statement.

The meeting came after Trump said last week that Egypt and Jordan should take the Palestinians from Gaza, which was called a “demolition site” after 15 months of Israeli bombing, which made most of them from 2.3 million homeless people.

Egypt and Jordan – the American allies in the region – have repeatedly rejected Trump’s proposal to “clean” Gaza. Jordan is home to several million Palestinians, while tens of thousands live in Egypt.

On Wednesday, the President of Egypt, Abdel Fahia Al -Sisi, refused Trump’s idea and said that the Egyptians would move to the streets to express their rejection.

He added: “The displacement of the Palestinian people from their land is an injustice that we cannot participate in.”

However, Trump repeated the idea on Thursday, saying: “We are doing a lot for them, and they will do it,” in a clear reference to the United States’ abundant assistance, including military assistance, for Egypt and Jordan.

Analysts said that Trump’s proposal will be an ethnic cleansing.

Youssef Monayer, head of the Palestine/Israel program at the Arab Center, Washington, DC, told Al -Jazeera earlier this week that Trump’s “obscene” statement should be condemned for violating all basic rules and rights.

“Trump says all kinds of things,” Monayer said, explaining that the US President’s statement should be taken with a hint of doubt.

“Sometimes, they are things that mean. Sometimes, they are things that do not concern them. Sometimes, they are things he heard in a conversation he had five minutes ago. Sometimes, they are things he believed to hear but misunderstand them.”

On Saturday, foreign ministers were “looking forward to working with the administration of US President Donald Trump to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, according to the two -state solution.”

They also welcomed Egypt’s plans to hold an international conference in the near future with the United Nations, which will focus on rebuilding Gaza. Often it was settled during the fifteen -month war between Israel and Hamas.
