Cabinet candidates for US President Donald Trump gained momentum, as Robert Kennedy Junior and Tolsi Gabbard cleared a major obstacle to the Senate, and Bam Bondi was confirmed.
The full Senate voted for approval of Bondi as the next US public prosecutor, in charge of operating the Ministry of Justice.
Kennedy, who chose him to be the next US Minister of Health, was presented by the Senate Finance Committee in a 14-13 vote divided into the party lines. Republicans only voted for him.
Gabbard chose to be the director of National Intelligence, survived a narrow 9-8 vote before the Senate Intelligence Committee – and was divided into the party lines.
Kennedy and Gabbard, who are controversial choices, will move on to a vote before the full US Senate, which Republicans control 53-47.
Bam Bondi will become the best law enforcement employee in the country on Tuesday evening after the Senate approved it with a vote 54-46.
All Republican Senate members voted to confirm Bondi; The Senator in Pennsylvania John Vitirman was the only democratic who voted in favor. The Senate is currently controlled by Republicans.
When it was nominated by Trump, he wrote on social media that it would end what he called “weapons” from the Ministry of Justice against the Republicans and itself, which Biden denied the White House.
Bondi was born in Tampa, Florida, studied criminal justice at the University of Florida, then he obtained a degree from the University of Steston University. It was accepted in the Florida Port in 1991.
Trump’s ally for a long time and criticized criminal cases against him, was elected as the first public lawyer in Florida in 2010, while dividing it regarding abuse of opioid materials and human trafficking.
During the confirmation process, Kennedy received some opposition from the legislators from both sides because of his doubts about vaccines.
Some also asked whether he had sufficient experience, including American public health and health care infrastructure programs.
However, he spent many of his sessions, insisting that he did not oppose vaccines – nor conspiracy theorists – but supports strict security tests.
However, Senate members often scream at his previous comments, including the appearance of podcast where he said: “There is no safe and effective vaccine.”
Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent working with Democrats, praised the “Make Americ Healthy Again” logo. But the Senator also showed pictures of children’s clothes printed with the Anti -Qazi Mistakes sold by the defense of children’s health, an organization led by the candidate until recently.
Kennedy replied that he was no longer raging on the group.
Although Kennedy’s testimony last week did not win any democrats next to him, he managed to secure decisive support from Republican Senator Louisiana Bill Cassidy.
Cassidy, a doctor, expressed doubts about Trump’s candidate, but he announced that he would support him after he obtained “serious obligations” by Kennedy and the White House. This wipes the way for a full vote in the Senate.
Kennedy is the son of Robert Kennedy and my nephew, President John F. Kennedy.
He initially proposed a candidacy for a democratic presidential nomination in 2024, but later installed an independent show before leaving and Trump Trump.
Initially, the American political descendant made his name as an environmental lawyer before resorting to criticism of American health care – including food safety and anti -vaccine call – in recent years.
As Minister of Health, Kennedy will be responsible for huge agencies such as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Health Institutes (NIH) and medical care services and medical aid centers.
Kennedy suggested that he would shoot many people working in these federal agencies, and Trump said he would give his candidate to the wide weapon to repair American food and health care systems.
Gabbard also faced opposition to some of the previous controversial positions, including its decision to meet and defend former Syrian President Bashar al -Assad in 2017, as well as a previous batch to obtain a pardon for the National Security Agency, Edward Snowden.
At one time, Gabbard was pressured by Republican and Democratic Senate members about whether Snowden – who fled to Russia to avoid American law enforcement – was classified as a “traitor”. She refused directly, saying only that he “broke the law.”
She added that he revealed “illegal and unconstitutional programs” that led to reforms, but confirmed that they will work to prevent illegal leaks and disclosure in the future.
Several members of the Senate indicated that Gabbard defended Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at the beginning of the war. Democratic Senator Michael Bennett Gabbard accused of agreeing that a “totalitarian state” was “justified in rolling over the peaceful borders of Ukraine.
However, Republican Senators who were initially skeptical in Gabbard gathered behind her.
On Monday, Senator Susan Collins from Min said that Gabbard had her concerns. Senator Todd Young of Indiana announced a day later that, too, Gabbard will return after receiving her commitment to “the progress of our national security.”
Gabbard is a former member of Congress from Hawaii and veteran military warriors who served with a medical unit in Iraq.
She was a member of the Democratic Party, and she was defending liberal reasons such as the government’s health care while serving in Congress.
In 2020, she was nominated for a democratic presidential nomination, later retreated and Joe Biden supported.
Gabbard left the Democratic Party in 2022, accusing them of “warm owners” led by “cowardly”. It became independent before it became a republic in 2024 and supported the Trump presidential show.
If the full Senate is confirmed, it will turn a budget of more than 70 billion dollars (55 billion pounds) and supervise 18 intelligence agencies.
