Your guide to what the American elections mean 2024 for Washington and the world
The Crusader campaign from Elon Musk suffered to reduce spending on the US government on Thursday after a federal ruleer prevented the Treasury from delivering data from the payment system to strangers, and one of the billionaire employees forced the resignation from racist social media.
Judge Colin Collar Kotelle put the temporary matter in his place after Musk boasted that his team in the Ministry of Governmental Idea (DOGE) was a “closure” of treasury transfers. They seem to have access to a system that spends trillion dollars, including social security and medical care payments, every year.
Hours after the judge’s decision, 25 -year -old programmer Marco Eliz, who was working for Dog, resigned, suddenly after discovering racist comments from the sleeper social media account. The Wall Street Journal reported for the first time about historical observations.
Eliz was one of a handful of young engineers who were recruited by Musk’s Doge and installed in various government agencies. When they were asked about their roles this week, President Donald Trump described programmers as “very smart” and defended their work.
Representatives of government and retired employees earlier this week stopped sensitive data – accessible by ELEZ – which are shared with Musk and others in Doge, arguing that such movements “deprive them of protecting the privacy guaranteed by federal law.”
Although the United States government reassured the court that only two of Duji’s envoys, CEO of the cloud programs group Tom Cross and Illiz, had achieved in the sensitive system, Kola Koteli prompted something that prevents any information to be shared outside the treasury, while it was trained My judiciary is more permanent.
As a result, Musk itself will not be able to review the data withdrawn from the payment system.
This legal challenge comes at a time when treasury and White House officials sought to suppress concerns about Musk and Doua Al -Muqtum, and his broadest authority, after the businessman suggested that his team cancel “illegal” payments unilaterally.
On Monday, Trump said that Musk, who became a private employee, “could not do – and will not – nothing without our approval.”
Journalist Caroline Levitte also confirmed that Musk will evacuate himself from any positions in which he might be a conflict: “If Elon Musk coincides with conflicts of interests with his contracts (his companies) and the financing that Dog is supervised, Elon will excuse himself from those contracts. All laws in force.
Dog, whose envoys leaked to the networks of various government agencies, including the United States Agency for International Development, Health, Humanitarian Services and the Ministry of Transport, have been prosecuted several times by groups claiming that the body circumvents various legal protection.
Separately on Thursday, a Massachusetts judge has been a final date for federal employees to accept or reject the acquisition package – part of an effort to reduce MUSK employees – until at least on Monday.
The White House also confirmed that only 40,000 workers accepted this offer, which is much lower than hundreds of thousands that it had previously expected.
