The officials confirmed that the Canadian child died in a resort in Jamaica.
Global Affairs Canada says it is aware of the death of a Canadian citizen in Jamaica, and provides consular assistance to the family.
“Our thoughts and sympathy for the loved ones of individuals,” the agency said in a statement.
Investigating what happened exactly is still continuing.

Global affairs added: “Because of privacy considerations, no more information can be revealed.”
According to the resort’s spokesman, the accident occurred on February 3 in Aquarelle RIU Palace in Trelawy, Jamaica participated in a child.
The resort expressed their condolences and said they were cooperating with the authorities.
The resort’s spokesman said: “With deep sadness and shock, we would like to express our most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones for the deceased child.”
“We are working closely with the authorities, providing all the required information, and we continue to provide all possible support to the family during these painful moments.”
More details about the conditions of the child’s death has not been released yet.
