Facing a boom in oral pesticides in Kenya

In September 2024, the brutal killing of the Olympic hostility in September 2024 brought a renewed global pandemic in Kenya: a pesticide and other forms of violence against women. With nearly 100 women who were killed by men in just three months, 2024 was one of the bloodiest years for Kenyan women. With the slow mindset of change and in the absence of a meaningful response from the government, some Kenyan women take matters with their hands by registering in the seasons of self -defense. Although the government of William Roto revealed a work squad of 42 members to address gender -based violence in January, feminist activists are already expressing fears that it will not affect a major impact. Erin Ogunkeye spoke to a professor of feminists and security from Soas University in London for more. She is also director of the Women’s Center for Ethnic Justice.
