The residents of the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, say that the army has regained large parts of the city from the semi -military RSF, which represents its largest victory in a year.
“The stray fragments and ammunition are falling on my neighborhood,” a doctor we call Mustafa BBC tells. “The clashes these days are heavy.”
The main sites that the army regained this week include The Mint – where money is printed.
At the time of writing this report, RSF still controls most of khartoum. While the army is now carrying the majority of lands through the broader triple capital – which means that omdurman, Bahri and khartoum.
But after winning it near the full control of the crucial Gezira situation, the army believes that it now has momentum to take the capital as well, and breaks the RSF siege for about two years.
“Very soon there will be no rebels in Khartoum,” The leader of the army and the real reality, General Abd al -Faih al -Brahan, announced on Tuesday.
The end of this conflict cannot come quickly enough.
Relief workers say people are starving all over the country as a result of the war – In Khartoum alone, more than 100,000 people suffer from famineAccording to non -supporting researchers.
Since the war erupted nearly two years ago, between General Piehan and his deputy, who turned into Muhammad Hamid “Hamid” Dagalo, who is leading the RSF, 12 million people have been forced from their homes and tens of thousands of civilians were subjected to.
Sudan is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, agreeing to international relief agencies.
They say that both the army, especially RSF, are guilty of committing some of the most imaginative atrocities against innocent civilians, including genocide in Darfur.
Both forces deny accusations.
The army was welcomed by joy by many residents of the recent areas, as RSF was widely accused of killing and raping civilians in Khartoum, as well as looting the homes of many residents who fled from the city.
Reports have been rejected by the army’s progress by RSF as “lies and rumors.” They have made a similar denial before every retreat in recent weeks.
Analysts say that the recent success of the army was the result of recruiting more fighters and buying more weapons. Winning at the besieged army headquarters was also a huge blessing earlier this month.
The army’s expulsion of the paramilitary group from the central city of Madiani in January in January, with allegations of brief executions and arbitrary revenge attacks on those who are considered informants or collaborators in RSF.
This is undoubtedly that this will raise concerns among some of the Khartoum residents that the same fate is waiting for them.
“When social media open and see all the killing, if you have committed something wrong, you should be concerned,” Mustafa told the BBC.
“Some of them led the fighters to the homes of the people. Others (RSF) joined and stole the property, so that people were terrified – until they detained women against their wills (Kabid sex). They did terrible things.
“Are they terrified of what will come? Of course.”
But sometimes there is a high line between being seen as a collaborator, and the reality of survival in the war.
“I am concerned about my cousin,” says Amir, who lives in the twin city of Omndorman, who lives in the Nile.
“He is not a collaborator or an informant – he must often deal with these people (RSF) because he takes care of his mother and children. Will he be slaughtered (by the army) or will he leave alone?”
At the present time, as the army and the future hands of Sudan are close to balance, everything that Mustafa and Amir can do is waiting.
