The FA Cup for the year 2024/25 provided English football supporters from the VAR, which surrounds the Premier League on a weekly basis.
Amendments to the competition rules means that VAR has not yet been used in the FA Cup for this year, which relaxes the majority of fans up and down in the country. Those who are in the championship and bottom in such bliss are used, but the Premier League players, managers and followers welcomed comfort.
The oldest cup competition in the world has not turned its back on technology, but it will not be used in the fourth round. This is the reason.
Before the 2024/25 season, the FA Cup was used in the matches that were organized in the English Premier League, in addition to the semi -finals and final rounds of Wembley Stadium. Clubs out of the higher level – even those that have VAR capabilities that have decreased to the championship – went without technology in home matches.
However, to ensure fairness and consistency through competition, VAR has now been canceled for the fourth and advance round. Even the Premier League stadiums did not employ the residence system in the third round of this year’s competition.
The decision was taken to ensure that the same rules are applied to each team through the competition, dealing with previous complaints about the intermittent use of VAR and how they created a balance between the highest and lower clubs in the league.
Although VAR has not yet been used in the FA 2024/25 Cup, it will be used in the fifth round and beyond regardless of the place. It will be used in each of the fifth round to the final, even during the internal relations of the clubs outside the Premier League.
The FA statement was read in December: “VAAR referees (VAR) will not be used until 2024-25 of the fifth round on the way.
It has been agreed that VAR will be used in every match in the fifth round of the competition until the final at Wembley Stadium, and will not be operated in the third and fourth rounds.
“VAR was used only in the UAE Cup formerly for the matches at Wembley Stadium and in the Premier League lands due to infrastructure, workforce and costs required to operate them.
“This decision ensures a fixed approach to judgment for all clubs participating in the same stage of competition.”
