China is looking for survivors after the ground collapse in Sichuan Province Climate News

Beijing Ministry of Emergency refers to rescue two people and moved 200.

China has launched a search for more than 30 people after it struck the landslides of the southwestern province of Sichuan.

The ground collapse struck the village of Jinping in a city showing Saturday at approximately 11:50 am (03:50 GMT), CCTV said in the state. The authorities said that dozens are missing, with conditions remaining dangerous.

“Ten homes were buried, more than 30 people were missing, and about 200 people were evacuated and transported,” CCTV said.

The broadcaster warned against the ground collapse “still continuing”, quoting rescuers on the site. The population, who was evacuated, was commanded to stay away from the area.

President Xi Jinping expressed his concern and urged the authorities to make every effort to search for lost losses and reduce losses.

The Ministry of Emergency Management said that two people were rescued, while 200 were transferred. He added that the response teams were on the site looking for the survivors.

Prime Minister Lee Qiang requested an investigation and examined potential geological risks in nearby areas.

He also called for more residents who may be vulnerable to evacuation to prevent another disaster.

One of the villagers told the state -run Beijing news that the rocks were often seen rolling in the mountain in recent months, and that geologists had examined the area late last year.

Xinhua said that the National Development and Reform Committee has allocated 50 million yuan ($ 6.9 million) of the central budget to support emergency restoration of infrastructure and public service facilities.
