A group of Democrats in the House of Representatives Mark Zuckerberg about Meta’s recent policy changes, saying they “are very concerned” about the company’s move to reduce content baptism, corporate diversity programs at the end and verify the truth of the third party. In a letter addressed to the CEO of Meta, four members of the Energy and Trade Committee in the House of Representatives demanded details about Zuckerberg announced last month.
“These political changes, which give their timing to the unavoidable appearance in favor of the curry with the Trump administration, are not contained, inconsistent and dangerous,” the legislators .
Meta has not yet provided many details about how to implement its new policies, which were announced shortly before President Donald Trump took office. The message from Zuckerberg requires a description of how “Trump’s threats to retaliate against you” have affected the decision to end the verification of facts on the platform. He also asks whether Facebook founder has “had discussions with any person representing the Trump administration regarding the anti -monopoly issue affiliated with the Federal Trade Committee against Mita.”
The message also notes that Zuckerberg’s recent statements seem to contradict the previous notes made when the Supervision Council was created for the first time. He says: “The Supervision Council, which is promoted a beacon of accountability, has become without teeth when Meta refuses itself to adhere to the principles of” trust and safety. “
The lawmakers also asked Zuckerberg about his general statements that companies need more “” particularly strange “in light of the fact that the chief legal official in Meta and its current financial officials are women and the three most important committees in your board of directors head the women managers. “
Zuckerberg got February 21, 2025, the deadline for the response. A Meta spokesman told Engadget when asked about the message: “We have nothing else to say after all that we have already continued in the past weeks,” a Meta spokesman told Engadget when asked about the message.
