At least 30 people were killed and 60 were wounded in the pre -dawn stampede in Maha Compe in Slipj in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The tragedy occurred while millions of pilgrims were roaming for space for its sacred purposes on the auspicious occasion of the Amavasya.
