Arne Slot says he will “be surprised” if Trent Alexander-Arnold appears in the Carabau Cup semi-finals in Liverpool against Tottenham, on the air on Sky Sports, after the injured defender against Bournemouth was exposed on Saturday.
Alexander-Arnold was forced to have muscle injury during the second half of Liverpool 2-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium.
Liverpool will host Tottenham on Thursday, looking to cancel a 1-0 deficit in the first leg.
Speaking at his press conference after the match, Slot said: “He asked me (Trent) if he could go and then fell.
“I felt something, I cannot tell you exactly what it is because now only an hour after it happens, but it is never a good sign if the player is asking for replacement.
“I will be surprised if he played on Thursday, but let’s hope to return as soon as possible.”
