Mexico President Claudia Shinbom says that the American definitions in her country were late for a month after a conversation with US President Donald Trump, which was confirmed by the White House.
“Mexico will strengthen the northern border with 10,000 members of the National Guard immediately, to stop drug trafficking from Mexico to the United States, especially Fintanel,” Sheinbau posted on x.
“The United States is committed to working to stop trafficking with high -energy weapons to Mexico.”
The Mexican President added that the two countries will maintain dialogue, and “our teams will start working today in two fields: security and trade.”
Trump ordered the 25 percent tariffs on all Mexican goods during the weekend, where Mexico said it would respond to its own tariff without details of the products.
But Trump emphasized social media that the customs tariff for goods from Mexico will stop temporarily for a month for negotiations, hours before they refine them.
He said that the talks will be chaired by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Beesen, Minister of Commerce, Howard Lottenic and high -level Mexico representatives.
“I look forward to participating in these negotiations, with President Shinbom, and we are trying to achieve a” deal “between the two countries,” the president said.
The temporary suspension that was added to the drama, where Trump’s tariff against Canada and China are still scheduled to enter into force on Tuesday. The uncertainty remains about the durability of any deals and whether the definitions are a harbinger of a wider commercial war, as Trump promised more tax taxes.
Former Mexican commercial negotiator Lewis de la Cali says that the “successful integration” of Canadian economies, the United States and Mexican will resist Donald Trump. De La Cali adds that the biggest challenge the US market is its rival with China, and that breaking the North American trade is “a punishment for American consumers.”
Trump posted on social media that he had spoken on Monday morning with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and will be “talking to him again at 3:00 pm”
But it is said that a senior Canadian official told the New York Times that Ottawa is not optimistic that they can get the same type of preparation for one month of the American definitions granted to Mexico.
Earlier, he repeated his complaint that Canada was not cooperative, despite decades of friendship and partnerships between the two countries.
“Canada does not allow us to open or do commercial businesses there,” as Trump has published. “What is all this? Many of these things, but they are also a drug war, and hundreds of thousands of people have died in the United States of drugs that flow across the borders of Mexico and Canada.”
Trump has also repeatedly mocked Trudeau, describing him as “ruler Trudeau”, and said that Canada can avoid definitions by becoming the 51st state.
Canada said it would become a retaliatory tariff for American products, as the federal government launches a detailed list of revenge definitions on the goods of $ 30 billion.
Politicians have touched on topics such as Waterbombers, AI and the 24 -hour environment in Newfoundland and Labrador, but politicians insist on deals on things like hydrogen and minerals will bring the most local benefits. Peter Kwan explains from CBC.
The European Union has also threatened 27 countries with tariffs by Trump.
Speaking in Washington on Sunday after returning from Mar Lago, the US president indicated that they were the following in the shooting line, but he did not say when.
“They do not take our cars, and do not take our agricultural products. They take almost nothing and take everything from them,” he told reporters.
European Union leaders said at an informal summit in Brussels on Monday that Europe would be ready to respond if the United States imposes a tariff, but also called for reason and negotiation.
