“It is now a complete circle”: Shantano Naido, Ratan Tata Assistant, begins this higher role in Tata Motors

Shantano Naido, the trusted close and director of the late Ratan Tata, has announced a major professional step. In a leaflet from LinkedIn Heart, Naido shared, “I am pleased to share that I started a new position as General Manager, Chairman – Strategic initiatives in Tata Motors!”

For the Nido, the role carries a deep personal importance. Thinking about his family’s relationship with Tata Motors, he wrote: “I remember when my father used to walk home from the Tata Motors factory, in his white shirt and his marine pants, and I will wait for him in the window. Considering seeing Ratan Tata to move at reasonable prices.

Many Naido users congratulated his great professional achievement. One of the users wrote: “This is an intimate journey! I wish you all the best and you play the exciting role of leadership in Tata Motors.

Hoping to have a wonderful future from Tata Motors, another user wrote, “A great step, Mr. Naido. Hoping that this step will be like the move that Mr. Ratan Tata has taken in 1962.”

A bond that goes beyond work

Naido’s relationship with Ratan Tata exceeded professional relationships. Their close association was clear when Tata Naido appointed his will, according to the Times of India. Tata gave up to Naido’s educational loans and abandoned his share in the start of Naido, with a goodfellows.

After the death of Tata on October 9, 2024, Naido shared an emotional honor, and wrote, “The hole that this friendship left now, I will spend the rest of my life try to fill it. Sadness is the price of payment for love. Goodbye, my dear, a beacon.”

Ratan Tata, a tall figure in Indian works, was 86 at the time of his death. While his era ended, his legacy lives through those who directed him.
