Due to the legalization of cannabis in more states all over the country, new research indicates the negative side effects of participating too much.
Researchers from the University of Colorado Ancerots Medical University have discussed the effect of the use of modern cannabis and life on brain function during cognitive tasks.
The study, published in Jama Open Network, is the “largest of its kind”, according to university, using brain imaging technology to study the effects of hemp use on 1,000 adults from 22 to 36 years.

Hemp users have been tested on their “work memory”, which is the ability to keep and use information to perform tasks, such as solving mathematics problem.

The nervous response was measured by seven cognitive tests – research in working memory, reward, emotion, language and motor skills – such as “taking advantage of a finger to draw a map in the brain, and the macroecap and mind theory.”
The results showed that 63 % of hashish users showed a decrease in brain activity while completing the working memory mission.
Meanwhile, 68 % of modern cannabis users showed a similar effect.

The researchers concluded that hemp had a “statistically significant effect” on the brain function during the working memory tasks, but it was less important in other tasks.
There was a decrease in brain activity in areas involved in important cognitive functions such as decision -making, memory, attention and emotional treatment.

The main author of the study, Joshua Join, PhD, Assistant Professor of Radiology at the College of Medicine at the University of Colorado, stressed the importance of studying the effects of cannabis on health with the continued “growth worldwide”.
“By doing this, we can provide a good understanding of all the benefits and risk of hemp, and enable people to make enlightened decisions and understand the potential consequences completely,” he said in a press statement.

It can help refrain from using hemp before the cognitive task helps improve performance, according to a vineyard and his team.
Joe said: “People should be aware of their relationship with hashish, because refraining from cold Türkiye can also disrupt their awareness.” “For example, heavy users may need to be more careful.”

“There are a lot of questions … regarding how hemp affects the brain,” continued.
“Large and long -term studies are needed to understand whether hemp used the brain function, the extent of these effects and the effect on different age groups.”

The neurosurgeon, Dr. Paul Savier, a doctorate in medicine, indicated that the size of the total study sample is large, but only about 8 % of the participants were reported as “heavy” users.
“While the study seems to be well designed … I would like to see a larger sample size than heavy users compared to either moderate or non -users to draw any final data,” which did not participate in the study, with Fox News Digital.

Saphier, founder of axial nervous surgery specialists in New Jersey, noted that he was “surprised” with the results of the study.
“The heavy use of cannabis over the age of the individual may eventually lead to a decrease in perception/memory tasks.” He emphasized.

“This also supports a relatively common and well -haired lifestyle of” everything in moderation “, with clear exceptions to the volatile activities/lifestyle.”

The neurosurgeon added that he is looking for “a more registered and higher and moderate study, so that I can provide more specific data to my patients.”
