The militants, led by Hamas, launched eight hostages on Thursday in the latest release since the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip earlier this month. Israel was expected to launch 110 other Palestinian prisoners.
The release was delayed from a chaotic scene in which a crowd of Palestinians wandered into the hostages while handing them over to the Red Cross.
The truce aims to end the bloodiest and most destructive conflict between Israel and Hamas, which sparked the attack on October 7, 2023 fighting. Despite the conflict earlier this week I was held on the sequence that the hostages were launched.

Hamas began the conflict when thousands of fighters stormed Israel. The gunmen killed about 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and kidnapped about 250.
Israel’s conflict, which followed from air and wild between the bloodiest and most destructive decades. More than 47,000 Palestinians were killed, more than half of them are women and children, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, which does not say the number of dead.
The Israeli army says it has killed more than 17,000 fighters, without providing evidence, and that he had done its best to try to spare civilians. It blames the civil deaths on Hamas because its fighters work in dense residential neighborhoods and put the military infrastructure near homes, schools and mosques.
