The Hongong Post late Thursday said it would continue to suspend postal goods to the United States, although the US Post service (USPS) has reflected a decision to suspend the parcels from China and Hong Kong.
This step by USPS caused Tuesday to stop accepting parcels from China and Hong Kong in chaos and confusion between retailers and shipping companies expressing how to deal with the new US President Donald Trump’s tariff for imports from China.
Trump’s move also included the closure of the “De Minimis” exemption of beams estimated at less than 800 dollars, with the declared goal of stopping the flow of chemicals of fentanel and sects to the United States.
Usps reversed the suspension for 12 hours after Trump canceled an exemption used by retailers including TEMU, Shein and Amazon, to charge low -value packages free of customs duties of the United States.
China’s Hong Kong has also exposed to the same definitions that China offers according to the US government notification that “the articles that are China’s products, which will include Hong Kong products … will be subject to additional media.”

Hong Kong has long been known as a free and open commercial center, but China’s imposition on Hong Kong of the full national security law in 2020 has sparked criticism from the United States and led it to end the special status of the previous British colony under US law, and tensions between China and the United States escalate
The United States later stipulated that the goods that were made in Hong Kong export to the United States need to be described as made in China, which ended one of the long -competing competitive advantages in Hong Kong as a commercial center.
The Hong Kong government said in a statement that it “repeated its strong rejection of the United States imposing the additional duty on the Hong Kong products” and “the United States urges urgent measures to correct its violation, to avoid causing confusion and inconvenience to the public due to its constantly changing policies.”
