PowerSchool giant in the United States confirmed that 16,000 students in the United Kingdom have personal and sensitive data stolen during the breach of December 2024 data.
This week, PowerSchool began notifying individuals outside the United States and Canada who were affected by the violation. The accident, which was confirmed by PowerSchool for the first time in January, witnessed access to the personal data of millions of students and teachers after using the accreditation data at risk to violate the company’s customer support portal.
PowerSchool has not confirmed the number of international students who were affected. However, in an e -mail statement to Techcrunch, a spokeswoman for PowerSchool Beth Keepler confirmed that four UK schools were affected, as infiltrators reached the data of “about 16,000 students”.
In a message sent to affected individuals outside the United States and Canada, which is seen by Techcrunch, PowerSchool said that the data accessed includes contact information for students, birth dates, limited medical data, and “other relevant information”.
“The information that has been dismantled for any specific individual varies through our customer base.” Powerschool refused to name British schools affected by the accident.

PowerSchool did not confirm after the total number of individuals affected by the breach of December, despite telling Techcrunch that “identifying the schools and regions whose data participated in this incident.”
