After nine months of announcing the change of the name was coming, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) changed its official name in an attempt to “meet the advanced needs of youth.”
The organization adopted the new name, Scouting America, on the 115th anniversary, “on the occasion of a pivotal moment in the organization’s journey,” according to a statement issued on Saturday.
This transformation comes after changing a modern policy in 2018, allowing girls to join the program. The organization began to allow gay youth in 2013 and ended a comprehensive ban on gay adult leaders in 2015.

The Foundation’s website is characterized by its new name, but social media accounts still have traditional handles.
“The American scouts helped instill the immortal values of multiple generations of Americans,” Kroon wrote in the statement. “In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, the values and skills that have been instilled by scouting are more important than ever, and the need for a strong nature, ethical decisions and effective leadership remains.”
Krone added that it is re -committing to providing a “safe and supportive environment” where young people can develop basic qualities.

The organization wrote in the statement: “The American scouts have been committed to providing young people with a safe environment as they can learn its meaningful life skills, creating life and growth memories to become tomorrow’s leaders,” the organization wrote in the statement. “In fact, more than 130 million Americans had experienced America’s exploration programs since our founding in 1910.”
