Ceylon (CEB) said that the power reduction was caused by an emergency in a sub -station and was working to restore the offer.
According to the Energy Minister Kumara Jayakoudi blamed a monkey to cause power outages, saying that the animal is “in contact with our network transformer, which causes an imbalance in the system,” according to Agence France -Presse.
“The engineers are attending it to try to restore the service as soon as possible,” the minister said.
“We are doing our best to restore power outage at the island level as soon as possible,” CEB said.
Hospitals and companies across the 22 million people are the island that uses generators or transformers.
