Returning home to Tal Rifaat, the Syrians find ruins and rides War news in Syria

Streets scattered with rubble and piles of rubble as their homes once stood up.

This is what the displaced residents face upon their return to the town of Tal Rifat in northern Syria, which is a decisive battlefield in the conflict between the Syrian Kurdish fighters and Turkish armed groups.

During the Syria war, Tel Rivat became part of the repeated courses for fighting and displacement that have played since the outbreak of the government’s anti -government protests in 2011.

Syrian Kurdish forces took control of the city in 2016, which led to the displacement of most of its residents. Elsewhere, such as the town of Afrin, the Kurdish population was displaced after controlling the Turkish -backed forces, and many fled to Tal Rifaat.

In December last year, during a thunderbolt attack by opposition fighters that led to the removal of President Bashar al -Assad, the tables again turned to the fact that the Turkish -backed forces seized Tal Rubat from the Syrian democratic forces led by the Kurdish, or SDF.

The signs of accelerated departure are clear everywhere – abandoned property, scattered debris, and dismantling of temporary barricades in a hurry.

However, the Tal Rifaat people say they are busy removing the rubble and restoring their lives to the right path.
