Capital plane crash line: The air collision includes 67 passengers, crew members and soldiers

It is assumed that an estimated 67 people have died after the Black Hawk helicopter collided with a US commercial flight from Whitchita, Kansas, over the Botomac River in Washington, DC, on Wednesday evening.

A total of 64 people, including four employees, were on the American Airlines Flight 5342, and three soldiers in the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk army that came from Fort Belvoir in Virginia.

January 29

5:18 pm CST

AA 5342 flight leaves Whitchita Dwit Dweth de Ezenhauer National Airport (ITC) for Ronald Rigan Washington National Airport (DCA) at 5:18 pm, or 6:18 pm EST time, according to air traffic control records from Flightradar24.

8:39 pm

UH-60 Army Black Hawk helicopter leave Fort Balfar as part of a training exercise. A senior army official told Fox News that the soldiers were part of the Black Hawk crew, “with experience,” and had night vision glasses aboard the helicopter.

8:40 pm

The 5342 trip started to DCA from the south.

Air traffic monitors request a flight 5342 to land on the 33rd runway, and pilots admit the order.

ATC is asked Black Hawk (PAT-25) if he can see the commercial plane.

“Do you have CRJ on the horizon?” The control unit asks, and the helicopter pilot confirms that he sees the passenger plane and asks “the visual separation”, which means that he is trying to get out of the flight course, according to FLIGHTRADAR24 voice.

“Pat-25, do you have CRJ on the horizon?” The console can be heard to the helicopter pilot 30 seconds before the accident.

The console is making another radio call to Pat-25 moments later: “PAT-25, passes behind CRJ”.

8:48 pm

Then the UH-60 and the 5342 trip collides over the Botomac River, causing an explosion at a height of about 300 feet arrested on the camera.

Air traffic monitors can be heard to respond, and they ask, “Have you seen that?”

8:53 pm

The Capital Police Department (MPD) receives phone calls that have reported a plane crash over Botomac.

DCA is closed due to “aircraft emergency.”

9:09 pm

The DC Fire and EMS department publishes an update on X stating that “the confirmed small aircraft at the Botomac River airport near Reagan National Airport. Firefield boats at the scene.”

10:51 pm

White House press secretary Caroline Levit publishes a statement from the president Donald Trump To x.

“It was fully aware of the terrible accident that just occurred Rigan National Airport. God bless their souls. Thank you for the amazing work that our respondents have done. “I watch the situation and I will provide more details with its appearance,” the statement says.

The mayor of the capital, Morel Bosr, holds a press conference with other law enforcement employees and announces that a passenger plane collided with a military plane.

DC Fire and EMS president John A. Inferior He announces that officials “recovered 27 people from the plane and one of the helicopters.”

Officials are holding a press conference in Washington, DC, saying that all 67 passengers, crew members and soldiers on board are assumed that both roads have died.

“We are now at the point where we turn from a rescue operation to a recovery process,” says Donylli during the briefing. “We don’t think there are any survivors.”

11:00 AM

Flights CVs decline in DCA; The first plane lands at the airport at 11:02 am

On Thursday morning, the source of the Ministry of Internal Security said that “there are no concerns related to terrorism” after the collision, and officials suspect that the accident was “just a tragedy.”

Before the deadly collision, there was a military plane crash in Alaska on Tuesday. The officials said that a US Air Force fighter plane crashed in Alaska after the pilot managed to safely out of the plane.

There have been at least 238 deaths and 227 injuries resulting from non -combat US military aircraft accidents since 2012, according to FAA.

There have been multiple “close call” incidents in DCA since 2023.
